Apple’s next chapter: 3 pressing challenges facing Tim Cook’s successor as CEO

John Ternus will become Apple's chief executive officer on September 1, 2025. Ternus previously served as Apple's senior vice president of hardware engineering. Tim Cook, who has led Apple since 2011, will transition to the role of executive chairman.
