Uber is letting parents check in on their teens through drivers’ selfie cameras

Uber added a feature to its teen account service that allows parents to view live video from drivers' front-facing cameras during their teenagers' ridehail trips. The company first introduced teen accounts in 2023 and has since added monitoring tools including PIN verification requirements and GPS tracking. The new camera feature is part of Uber's expansion of parental oversight options for the teen account product.
