Leon Slater defeated Cedric Alexander in a steel cage match at TNA Lockdown on the event date. Slater then cashed in Option C, a TNA wrestling contract stipulation, to earn a title challenge against Nic Nemeth at Bound for Glory. The Option C mechanism allows a wrestler to trade their current championship opportunity for a world title match.
