US Natural Gas Rises on Record-Breaking Heat, Lower Output

US natural gas prices rose following weekend weather forecasts showing higher temperatures across the country. Commodity Weather Group reported that August 2026 is tracking to become the hottest population-weighted month since records began in 2007. Higher temperatures typically increase electricity demand for air conditioning, which raises demand for natural gas used in power generation.
