They Dedicated Their Lives to Teaching. Then the Deepfakes Started

Four public school teachers reported becoming targets of sexualized deepfake content generated using artificial intelligence. The teachers told WIRED magazine that they struggled to obtain accountability from school administrators, social media platforms, and law enforcement after discovering the images. School districts and technology companies have not established consistent protocols for removing such content or supporting affected teachers. The deepfakes were created without the teachers' consent and distributed online.
