‘Barbaric’ abortion provision fuels Christian push to crack down on Dem governor

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey signed a law in 2024 permitting abortion throughout pregnancy. CatholicVote, a Catholic advocacy group, sent a letter to Massachusetts bishops urging them to consider excommunication for Healey over the legislation. The law removed a 24-week abortion limit that had previously been in state statute. Catholic bishops have not announced any formal disciplinary action in response to the letter.
