NASA Cancels Its Rescue Mission for the Aging Swift Telescope

NASA canceled a planned rescue mission for the Swift space telescope after technical problems emerged with the LINK probe's control system. The LINK probe was designed to use robotic arms to capture Swift and move it to a higher orbit. Swift, which has conducted X-ray observations since 2004, has been operating in a decaying orbit.
