Why the jobs and inflation data are bullish for bonds

June employment figures fell short of consensus expectations. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 206,000 jobs added in June, compared to an average forecast of 210,000 by economists surveyed by Bloomberg. Unemployment remained at 4.0 percent. Average hourly earnings grew 3.9 percent year-over-year, down from 4.0 percent in May.
