Court Slashes Award Alex Jones Was Ordered to Pay Sandy Hook Parents

An appeals court in Texas reduced a damages award to the parents of one Sandy Hook victim to $6 million from $49 million, citing state law caps on punitive damages. Alex Jones, who operates Infowars, was ordered to pay this amount in a defamation case related to his statements about the 2012 school shooting. Jones has been ordered to pay additional amounts totaling over $1 billion across other Sandy Hook-related cases in different jurisdictions.
