Thursday, July 2, 2026
Amazon has deployed sufficient satellites to begin operating its Leo internet service in 2024, according to the company. Leo will provide satellite-based broadband in competition with SpaceX's Starlink, which currently operates more than 10,000 satellites. Starlink began commercial service in 2020, approximately four years before Amazon's planned Leo launch.
