India’s Economic Activity Stays Subdued as Manufacturing Weakens

India's manufacturing activity declined in August while services sector growth remained modest, according to a flash survey by HSBC Holdings Plc released Friday. The survey measures economic activity through purchasing managers' indexes for both sectors. Overall economic expansion slowed during the month based on the combined results.
