CME CEO Spars With CFTC Chair About Prediction Market Oversight

Terry Duffy, CEO of CME Group Inc., told CFTC Chairman Christy Goldmark that the agency needed to strengthen oversight of prediction markets to prevent manipulation as these markets expand. The CFTC regulates futures and derivatives trading in the United States. Prediction markets, which allow trading on outcomes of future events, have grown to multibillion-dollar valuations in recent years.
