FCC officially decides gigabit speeds are too good for you

The Federal Communications Commission, under Chairman Brendan Carr, rescinded broadband speed targets established during the Biden administration that had aimed for gigabit download speeds and half-gigabit upload speeds. Carr had announced the change in 2025. The FCC voted to remove these long-term speed goals from its official broadband deployment targets.
