New sodium-ion battery could reshape grid storage

CATL announced the launch of TENER, a sodium-ion battery energy storage system for grid storage and renewable energy applications. The company stated the product is commercially ready for deployment. Sodium-ion batteries use sodium instead of lithium as the primary charge carrier. The technology is intended to support energy storage at grid scale alongside renewable energy sources.
