Crypto Industry Will Get Rules One Way or Another, Selig Says

CFTC Chair Rostin Behnam said Thursday that the cryptocurrency industry will face market structure rules regardless of whether Congress passes legislation. Behnam made the statement while speaking on a panel about regulatory approaches to digital assets. The CFTC has authority to issue rules for certain crypto derivatives trading. Congress has considered multiple bills addressing cryptocurrency regulation, with no legislation passed as of Thursday.
