Super Bowl champion OJ Brigance dead at 56 after battle with ALS

O.J. Brigance, a linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens who made the first tackle in Super Bowl XXXV, died at age 56 following a diagnosis of ALS. Brigance was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in 2007 and became involved in ALS research and advocacy work after his playing career ended. He was a member of the Ravens' 2001 Super Bowl championship team.
