U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion

The U.S. national debt reached 40 trillion dollars, according to Treasury Department records. President Trump nominated Jay Bhattacharya, a physician and researcher, to serve as commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration. Bhattacharya has worked on pandemic policy and public health issues.
