15 states have laws that allow corporal punishment in schools. Here's where, and why

Fifteen U.S. states permit corporal punishment in public schools under state law. The American Psychological Association and other psychology organizations have concluded that corporal punishment can be harmful to children. The U.S. has no federal law prohibiting corporal punishment in schools.
