Democrats pick their fighter for uphill bid to flip deep-red Senate seat

James Byrd won Wyoming's Democratic primary for the open Senate seat following Cynthia Lummis's announcement that she would not seek reelection. Byrd defeated Billy Benavidez in the primary. Wyoming has voted Republican in recent statewide elections.
