Media executive overcomes Trump endorsement in race to succeed Byron Donalds in ‘circus-like primary’

Catalina Lauf, who served as a Trump administration appointee, lost to businessman Jim Schwartzel in a primary election to succeed Rep. Byron Donalds. The race determined who would represent the open seat. Schwartzel won the Republican primary vote.
