Comcast is turning millions of its routers into motion detectors

Comcast is enabling motion detection on compatible Xfinity routers through an update to its Xfinity Internet app released August 18th. The feature will be available at no additional cost to customers with compatible routers as part of the Xfinity Shield service. The routers will use Wi-Fi signals to detect activity in homes where the feature is activated.
