Amazon job scam texts are spreading again with a new twist

Tuesday, August 18, 2026

Scammers are sending text messages offering remote Amazon jobs that claim to pay $600 per day for 90 minutes of work. Amazon spokesperson Jisun Choi told CNBC that recipients should not respond to unsolicited job offers via text, should verify any job listing directly through Amazon's careers website, and should report the messages to the Federal Trade Commission. The scam typically directs victims to click links, provide personal information, or pay upfront fees before employment. Amazon does not recruit employees through text messages and does not require payment to apply for positions.
