Omar's GOP challenger comes out firing with vow to clean up 'mess' in deep blue district: 'People are fed up'

John Nagel, a Republican who won the Minnesota primary after serving 30 years as a state trooper, is running against U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar. Nagel said Minnesota voters are dissatisfied with Omar's representation. The general election matchup will be held in the 2026 cycle.
