LA teachers patrol for ICE before class as DHS blasts enforcement ‘false narrative’

Los Angeles Unified School District teachers conducted early-morning patrols near schools to monitor for Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity, photographing license plates and alerting families to potential immigration enforcement operations. The Department of Homeland Security issued a statement addressing what it characterized as inaccurate portrayals of its enforcement practices. The patrols occurred as immigration enforcement operations continued in the Los Angeles area.
