Famed ex-Yankees pitcher Tommy John dead at 83 after sending farewell message to fans

Tommy John, a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Yankees among other teams, died at age 83. One week before his death, John released a message to fans during Yankees Old-Timers' Day in which he thanked Dr. Jobe and supporters. John's death occurred on May 28, 2026.
