India Readies Big LPG Output Boost as Hormuz Uncertainty Lingers

India directed state-owned and private refiners to prepare for increased cooking gas production to reduce dependence on imports amid supply uncertainty at the Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately 90 percent of the country's liquefied petroleum gas enters. The directive was issued in response to ongoing conflict involving Iran. India imports the majority of its liquefied petroleum gas from overseas sources.
