Are robotaxis finally here?

Autonomous taxi services operate in select U.S. cities as of 2026, including San Francisco, Phoenix, and Las Vegas, where companies including Waymo and Cruise offer ride-hailing via self-driving vehicles. These services remain limited to specific geographic areas and operate under regulatory permits from local and state authorities. Nationwide deployment has not occurred, and most U.S. cities do not yet have autonomous taxi services available to the public.
