Democrats Make South Carolina the First Contest in 2028 Presidential Primary Calendar

The Democratic National Committee voted to make South Carolina the first contest in the 2028 presidential primary calendar, followed by New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, Georgia, and Michigan. Iowa and New Hampshire, which had held first-position status in previous cycles, were moved to later positions in the order. The party's Rules and Bylaws Committee approved the new calendar during a meeting in Washington.
