Highland masterpiece by Queen Victoria's favourite artist sells for £5.9m

A painting titled "Scene in Braemar" by Sir Edwin Landseer sold for £5.9 million at auction. The sale price was approximately five times the previous record for a work by Landseer. Landseer was a Scottish painter known for his animal and Highland landscape subjects during the 19th century. Queen Victoria acquired multiple works by the artist during her lifetime.
