Trump Says U.S. Will Declare Strait of Hormuz ‘U.S. Territory’ — ‘After We Finish Defeating Iran’

President Trump said Friday that the United States will declare the Strait of Hormuz "U.S. territory" after defeating Iran. Iran's government stated the strait "has been Iranian, is Iranian, and will remain Iranian." The Strait of Hormuz is a waterway between Iran and Oman through which roughly one-third of global maritime oil trade passes.
