DFW Airport scraps controversial Islamic footwashing station plan as Texas Gov. Abbott takes aim

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott directed a review of state grants to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport over planned Islamic wudu ablution stations. DFW Airport subsequently canceled the footwashing station project. The stations were designed to provide facilities for Muslim travelers to perform ritual washing before prayer.
