HBO’s 'Harry Potter' gets a hard no from 'Black Mirror,' 'Loki' directors over JK Rowling’s trans views

Ally Pankiw, director of "Black Mirror," and Kate Herron, director of "Loki," each stated they would not work on HBO's "Harry Potter" series. Both cited Rowling's public statements regarding transgender issues as their reason for declining the project. HBO has greenlit a new "Harry Potter" television adaptation in development. Rowling created the Harry Potter book series and has made multiple public statements on sex and gender that drew responses from LGBTQ+ advocates and others.
