Afghanistan's Foreign Minister called for the United States to reopen its embassy in Kabul and increase investment in the country. The U.S. closed its embassy in August 2021 following the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan. No announcement of plans to reopen the embassy has been made by U.S. officials.
