New York City’s lone Republican in Congress accuses Mamdani, Schumer of 'hypocrisy' in voter ID fight

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis of New York stated that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats oppose the SAVE Act while publicly supporting voter identification requirements in their districts. Malliotakis is the sole Republican representing New York in the House. The SAVE Act would require proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Schumer and other Senate Democrats have opposed the legislation.
