Data centers in space could be a new frontier for insurers — if they can price the risk

Venture capitalists and aerospace companies are developing plans to build data centers in low Earth orbit. Insurers would need to assess risks including equipment failure, collisions with debris, and satellite deorbiting. No data center in orbit has been fully operational yet. The insurance industry has not established standard pricing models for orbital infrastructure.
