PBOC Conducts Mid-Month Overnight Reverse Repo for First Time

China's People's Bank of Commerce conducted an overnight reverse repurchase operation on Friday. The operation marked the first time the central bank has performed this type of transaction in the middle of a month. Reverse repos allow the central bank to inject short-term liquidity into the financial system.
