Ann Berry, founder of Threadneedle Ventures, stated that increased access to private-market investments does not guarantee transparency in how private companies are valued. Berry told Bloomberg that assessing private company valuations requires specialized expertise that ordinary investors may lack. She noted that publicly traded funds offering private-market exposure require investors to place significant trust in fund managers' assessment of underlying businesses.
