Former Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji died on January 23, 2025, at age 97. Zhu served as Premier from 1998 to 2003 and was credited with leading economic reforms during China's entry into the World Trade Organization in 2001. Chinese state media and international observers noted his role in market-oriented economic policies during the 1990s and early 2000s.
