The web’s newest weapon against AI scrapers is a font
Wednesday, August 12, 2026
A font called ShieldFont has been developed to disrupt AI training by embedding hidden data into text while keeping web pages readable to human users. The technology works by adding invisible characters or subtle visual modifications that confuse machine learning models attempting to scrape content. ShieldFont's creators say the approach allows website owners to protect their content from unauthorized AI data harvesting without degrading the user experience.
