Twitch content has trained Amazon AI for years, but users can opt out now
Wednesday, August 12, 2026
Twitch announced that user-generated content on its platform has been used to train Amazon artificial intelligence models and will continue to be used for future model improvements unless users opt out. The streaming platform disclosed the practice in updated terms of service, allowing creators and viewers to disable the use of their content for AI training through account settings. Amazon, which owns Twitch, did not specify which AI models were trained using Twitch data or provide details on the scope of past training. The opt-out mechanism became available to users on the platform.
