Novice climber survives 1,500-foot drop on California's Mount Shasta after helicopter rescue delayed by clouds

A woman who slid 1,500 feet down Avalanche Gulch on Mount Shasta in California was rescued by climbing rangers who hiked to her location on foot after cloud cover prevented helicopter access to the area. The rangers located the woman and brought her down the mountain. She survived the fall and was treated for injuries sustained in the incident.
