John Hinckley Jr. said in recent remarks that Jodie Foster could have been a target of his 1981 assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan, stating "fate went the other way" toward the former president. Hinckley Jr. was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the shooting, which wounded Reagan and three others. He has been conditionally released from psychiatric care and currently lives under supervision.
