'No better group': Veteran says special ops should get same concealed carry permit as retired cops

A proposal before Congress would allow qualified veterans of military special operations units to carry concealed firearms across state lines under the same federal exemption currently available to retired law enforcement officers. The Special Operations Forces Concealed Carry Act would extend privileges established by the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act to eligible special operators. The bill would require veterans to meet specific training and background check standards set by the Department of Defense.
