Colorado Governor Fires Officials Who Opposed Freeing Tina Peters

Colorado Governor Jared Polis commuted the sentence of Tina Peters on December 23, 2024. Peters was convicted of tampering with voting machines in 2022. Polis subsequently removed two officials from the state election office who had opposed the commutation. Peters had been sentenced to prison following her conviction related to access to voting equipment in Mesa County.
