Ex-New Jersey mayor, her husband charged for using fake ballot signatures after she pleaded guilty to DUI

Gina LaPlaca, a former mayor, and her husband Jason Carty were charged with ballot fraud related to her 2025 Democratic primary petition in New Jersey. LaPlaca previously pleaded guilty to driving under the influence. According to the New Jersey Attorney General's office, the charges stem from allegations that fake signatures were used on her primary petition.
