White House asks DOJ to consider new prosecution in Reflecting Pool case

The Department of Justice is considering pursuing a misdemeanor charge against Olympic canoeist David Hearn following the withdrawal of a felony charge in a case involving the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Prosecutors had previously charged Hearn with a felony but moved to drop that charge. The White House requested that the DOJ evaluate the option of a misdemeanor prosecution instead.
