Paramount escalates threat to leave California as Dem AG's antitrust lawsuit stalls Warner Bros merger

David Ellison, Paramount's chief executive, threatened to move Paramount out of California if state Attorney General Rob Bonta does not negotiate a settlement of his antitrust lawsuit against the Warner Bros. merger. Bonta filed the lawsuit in 2024 to block the proposed merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. Ellison stated the company would relocate if the litigation continues without settlement discussions.
