Zac Taylor admits breaking NFL challenge flag rule for 8 years as league makes change

Bengals coach Zac Taylor acknowledged that for eight years he violated an NFL rule by having other staff members throw the challenge flag instead of doing so himself. The NFL changed the rule before the 2026 season to permit coaches to delegate the flag throw to another staff member. Taylor's practice had been to hand the red flag to another staff member rather than throw it himself during games.
