Steve Ostroff, who previously served as Acting Commissioner of the FDA and Deputy Director of the National Center for Infectious Diseases at the CDC, discussed the cyclospora outbreak timeline on Bloomberg's "The Close" with host Romaine Bostick. The outbreak became widely known in early to mid-July. Reports indicated that government agencies had information about the outbreak weeks before public disclosure occurred.
