Parents of Idaho massacre victim face daily nightmare while demanding death penalty after shock plea twist

Bryan Kohberger, who pleaded guilty to four murders at the University of Idaho in 2024, filed a motion to withdraw his plea in 2025. Kohberger killed Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernohan, and Ethan Chapin in Moscow, Idaho, in November 2022. Kristi and Steve Goncalves, parents of victim Kaylee Goncalves, have called for the death penalty. The motion to withdraw the plea halted Kohberger's sentencing, which had been scheduled to proceed.
